Airbus and its 3D printing light motorcycle

In December 14, 2016

It is called Light Rider and is 30% lighter than its competitors. This is the electric motorcycle that Airbus is offering, weighing only 35 kilos and one of the few in the market that works to perfection. The secret? The Scalmalloy alloy –with aluminum components– and a structure based on the aeronautical knowledge of Airbus, thanks to which the air circulates freely.

The vehicle has been printed by APWorks, an Airbus Group subsidiary, and this 3D printing system is intended to be applied to the two engine aircraft that will be present at the Berlin Air Show.

Those who are interested in acquiring the motorcycle maybe should know that there are only 50 bikes available and their cost is 50,000 euros…
